Hi, I’m Rebecca, and this is my food blog! The Green Bean Food Blog started out as an Instagram account called Bean’s Beans, created in January 2019. Bean’s Beans was initially created to share my passion for food, vegetarianism, and creativity with the world. As the account evolved, I did as well. I discovered that Bean’s Beans was so much more than just nice pictures and eating well. I found a love for learning, growth, and environmentalism. For wellness, community, and making a difference. It wasn’t long before Bean’s Beans changed to The Green Bean, better encapsulating the messages I am trying to share through my Instagram account and this blog.

Some fun facts about me:
I became vegetarian in the winter of 2016
I participate in veggie cheat days 2-3 times per year (because I’m all about progress over perfection)
I became vegetarian after watching a documentary in high school about the future of food
I am a Sustainability Management master’s student at the University of Waterloo, and my research focuses on meatless diet communication
