Green Fact
When food is sent to landfills, it decomposes into methane, a greenhouse gas that is over 25 times more potent than carbon dioxide. While composting is a more environmentally friendly alternative, reducing your food waste is the best solution of all. This is because GHG emissions occur throughout the supply chain, within activities such as harvesting, processing, and transportation. When food is lost or wasted, all these emissions are accumulated for nothing.
I like making these pizza bites when I have extra tortilla shells lying around because it’s an easy snack to make with only one or two shells if that’s all I’ve got. This is one way I try to reduce food waste in my kitchen.
